Dil Se - from Rehan about - Syed Akbari

Another figure in team Brownstown that has remained unnoticed by many is Syed Akbari. A very useful all rounder and sharp fielder who always keeps the team motivated with his pep talk. His left arm slow medium bowling is mostly used to cease the run flow or to break a threatening partnership. Barely gives any extra run ( a rarity in Brownstown team :). A handy middle order batsman. He is probably the only batsman who plays MegaBytes bowling with more confidence than anyone else in the team. Rewind back to the SF in 2005. MegaBytes bowling was all over Brownstown batting, reeling at 40+/5 in 19 overs. In comes Syed. When it was so hard to take singles against tight MB bowling, he hit couple of sixes, took sharp ones and two and lifted the score to around 80 runs at the end of 25th over. A victory by some 10+ runs wouldn't be possible without his innings. Another moment of excellence was witnessed in 2008 play-off game against Megs. Someone called it 'throwing without seeing'. Ranga played with soft hands towards mid on and threatened to take a single by taking a few steps down the pitch. Syed pretended to throw down the non-striker end but he actually scored a direct hit at the strikers end giving no chance to Ranga to get back to his crease. His these little moment of excellences always lift up the team spirit and have been phenomenal in Brownstown team's success on numerous occasions.
