LBW Rule - Samish Kilam

It is not easy to judge an LBW. I've tried to break it into steps to help eliminate the complications of the rule. I hope this doesn't make it more complicated ;)
Four things to keep in mind when judging an LBW are:

Where the ball has pitched with respect to the stumps.
Whether the batsman is playing a shot or not.
The line of impact with respect to the stumps.
Whether the ball appears to go on and hit the stumps.

1. Ball pitched outside leg stump:
a. NOT OUT (no matter what - even if it is appears to be hitting the middle of middle stump)

2. Ball pitched anywhere else:
a. If the batsman is playing a shot (includes a defensive shot).
i. The ball MUST hit the batsman (leg or any other part of the body) in the line of the stumps i.e. the point of impact MUST be between off stump and leg stump - even for full-toss hits.
ii. The ball MUST appear to go on and hit the wicket (both with respect to height and line with due consideration given to swing and spin).
b. If the batsman is not playing a shot (e.g. deliberate padding)
i. As long as the ball hasn't pitched outside leg stump, the ball should appear to hit the wickets (both height and line). The ball can hit the batsman outside the line of stumps unlike when offering a shot.

Additional Notes:
FULL-TOSSES:
You CANNOT presume any movement off the pitch (turn or cut) when the batsman is hit FULL-TOSS. In case of a full-toss hit, the only thing to judge besides (2a) and (2b) (see above) is if the ball appears to go on and hit the stumps (consider the swing in air).
